Front Bench Seat

As part of the interior refit l need to include rear seat belts and a suitable space to keep our dog safe while travelling. The involves a bit of a re-think on the layout.

While at the National Tramway Museum (Crich, Derbyshire) I was inspired by the tram seat mechanism that flips the seat back when changing direction. Here is my interpretation...

front seat Front seat in driving position, new plywood seat base (angle iron supports underneath for strength), the original base fouled the seat mechanism. This will be covered with two levels of foam, the first layer between the wheel arches will be quite firm (to stop leaning towards the middle), the top layer will be softer for comfort.
